Different sizes. Each SOUTH AFRICA artwork is made of several 40 x 30 cm chromogenic prints, mounted on dibond, coated with epoxy resin, inset on aluminium frame. The images are assembled, in the order they were taken. Variable formats available depending of the piece.

SOUTH AFRICA
Over the last couple of years, obsessions, in the form of collections, have been interfering in my photographic approach, going from testimony to a more carnal involvment, a darker look at the contemporary world. These collections, intimate first, are made of images dictated by mandatory shots, showing my emotions, reactions and other questions, and the encounter of my dumbfounded gaze facing (in front of) our daily landscapes.
During my project in South Africa, it became an evidence that my purpose was going beyond documenting impoverished conditions but rather to show the human beauty and energy they put into their life and surroundings.
The fragmented approach brings the viewer beyond his first instinct, allowing him to reach other emotions… With an aesthetic connection to the raw material + an aesthetic connection to the human being and its surroundings, a certain harmony finally forms itself.

Au cours des dernières années, les obsessions, sous forme de collections, ont interféré dans mon approche photographique, allant du témoignage à une implication plus charnelle, un regard plus sombre sur le monde contemporain. Ces collections, intimistes d’abord, sont faites d’images dictées par des plans obligatoires, montrant mes émotions, réactions et autres questions, et la rencontre de mon regard ébahi face à nos paysages quotidiens.
Au cours de mon projet en Afrique du Sud, il est devenu évident que mon but dépassait le simple fait de documenter des conditions appauvries, mais plutôt de montrer la beauté et l’énergie humaines qu’ils mettaient dans leur vie et leur environnement.
L’approche fragmentée amène le spectateur au-delà de son premier instinct, lui permettant d’atteindre d’autres émotions … Avec une connexion esthétique à la matière première + un lien esthétique avec l’être humain et son environnement, une certaine harmonie se forme finalement.
